# Guidelines and good practice

> The rules to follow as a tipster, what can lead to removal, and what makes a good prediction.

The [tipster guidelines](https://tipster4you.com/en/tipster-guidelines) are accepted at
application. This page sums up their spirit; the full text prevails.

## The rules

* **Personal analyses.** No content copied from another tipster or a website. Your
  prediction must explain your reasoning.
* **No promise of winnings.** No "sure bet", no "guaranteed", no announced return.
  Sports betting carries risk, and your statistics speak for you.
* **Transparency.** Your results are computed by the platform and public. A published
  prediction can no longer be edited once the match has started.
* **Respect for buyers.** A sold prediction must match what was announced: sport,
  match, market, odds.
* **Adulthood and legality.** You are 18 or older, and you do not push people to bet on
  sites that are illegal in the reader's country.

## What can lead to removal

Copied content, promises of winnings, obviously fake predictions, manipulation of
statistics (for instance publishing after the match has started), incitement to
excessive gambling. Support warns by email and can suspend publication or close the
tipster account.

## What makes a good prediction

* A **precise market** and **dated odds**: the bettor must be able to find the bet.
* A **stake in units** consistent with your confidence.
* A **short but argued analysis**: form, squad, context, value of the odds.
* **Publishing ahead of time**, to leave time to play.
* **Consistency**: three solid predictions a week beat a burst followed by silence.
